The writing is on the wall. His comments about David Duke are very telling. He said the problem with Duke, a candidate for state senate and Grand Wizard of the KKK, was that he lacked electability. Any high school student can unpack that statement to mean, Hes on the right team but cant win - look at me I can win. The Southern Strategy at its most insideous. His votes against MLK Day, voting rights, anti-hate legislation, and immigration reform show hes doing the bidding of the racists he claims not to support. Actions speak louder than words. We are supposed to believe that he didnt know who David Duke was? I knew who that guy was as an elementary student in Louisiana in the 1980s. Even his apology follows the recipe for political non-apologies, which send the yeah yeah we have to say this but we still support this crap message.
