Theater Production Internship opportunity - NYC Group .BR Fall 2014 Part-time Internship Paid: $300/month Dates: September 8th through October 31st. Group .BR is a not-for-profit company dedicated to bring the Brazilian theater arts to New York City. The group will be performing its second seasons of the show Infinite While It Lasts, with performances running from October 2nd through the 26th at the bar Studio 151. The company is looking for interns to help with the overall production and post production of the show. INFINITE WHILE IT LAST IS NOMINATED FOR THE 2014 NEW YORK INNOVATIVE IN THE CATEGORY CHOREOGRAPHY AND MOVEMENT!! ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Assisting in the planning and execution of details related to Group .BR events. • Help promotion of events on social media. • Developing community profiles for Group .BR projects. • Help preparing marketing and informational materials. • Assisting with content and design for Group .BR newsletter and social media. • Assisting with administrative tasks and errands as needed. • Assisting with marketing plan and materials as needed. • Research materials and rental/selling prices for items related to the production. • Handle contract reviews and signatures. • Research and reach out to communities related to the group activities. DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or currently pursuing degree in related field. • Must be self-directed and proactive, highly organized, computer literate, outgoing, and able to think on your feet; proactive about administrative office tasks, as well as eager to engage with the public onsite, both with utmost professionalism. • Must possess strong written, verbal, research, and interpersonal skills. English speaking is a must Portuguese a plus. • Graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), as well as knowledge of social media platforms, new technology, and traditional marketing are all a major plus. • Some experience in live event execution and theater production is preferred. • Knowledge of and a keen interest in theater and New York City theater scene, especially within the Latin community. • Must be extremely responsible, professional and committed.
