There are a lot of lovely ladies being brave and uploading selfies of themselves in aid of breast cancer awareness. I was just thinking even though its a for a great cause is this actually doing the job its intended for? I just did a quick research and found two charities that possibly started this craze. • Stars dare to bare with no make-up for Children in Need appeal. •October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Dare To Bare campaign is asking women to get sponsored to go to work with no make up on... My opinion is the craze hitting Facebook at present is slightly different than the charities intended??? Or maybe Im not understanding it fully. Just doing a selfie isnt really helping the charity. Maybe the caption breast awareness will make women research about breast cancer and how to examine themselves...then the job is half way complete. However these charities need support financially to help breast cancer patients, families, and to find a cure. I feel yes lets do these selfies but lets up this a bit and really make it worth while...either get sponsored or actually put ur hand in your pocket and give a donation to: www2.breastcancercare.org.uk/donate I have people in my life who have experienced this horrible horrible disease, others who have recently been diagnosed and others who may not have breast cancer but have the dreaded news of cancer else where. This is very close to me, therefore I am adding my selfie but I have also donated to breast cancer awareness. **PLEASE DONT FORGET TO DONATE***
