There are times when I wish I had not viewed something or made a post. Ellis Darby, this is one of those times. At this moment instead of being at school, I wish I was on the road headed to anywhere--maybe Arlington where my Mom and Dad are interred. Maybe a trip from there across the Potomac to join the Veterans who are protesting the shut down of the government and the potential cut off of veterans disabilities fund. This country praises the war heroes (actually for most of us we are grateful someone else chose to be a hero so we could sit on our butts, watch our wars, and enjoy the good life) and then treats the heroes like the crap this shut down has become. Can you imagine closing the WW II Memorial?! And then the dumba_ _ politicians who take advantage of it to make speeches deriding one another? This shut down is purely political--a sham brought on by a miniscule minority in Washington that have more reasonable politicians shaking in their shoes. Democrats have got to realize we cannot keep up the this pace of spending and Republicans have got to realize that business has to suffer right along with the poorest of the poor who will bear the brunt of the cuts. I wish I were somewhere else right now. War is suppose to remind us that we work for peace. There has yet to be a decade since the Vietnam War, hell since WW II, that the United States has been at peace. In fact, we have been in continuous War since 1992 and the First Gulf War. Think about it.
