There has been some questions behind the objectives and motives of this campaign. Its fair that we answer some Q&A style. Who are we? We are a motley crew of student, technology entrepreneur, Home builder, chemical engineer and venture capitalist who are doing this out of our own time and expense. We have no association with any of the modders and vendors except for being customers and some, friendship. Why these selected bunch of modders? These are just the initial few who have started the campaign and more will be joining. It is important that those who are involved with this campaign are already successful in their own right. We are not a campaign to facilitate sales. Arent the special editions a way of profiteering? As stated, these busy modders are going out of their way to make a small batch for this purpose. A small batch that is not priced higher than their usual price and a percentage given to charity. Seriously, these modders do not need this campaign to sell and forego some if not all profits as most have a long waiting list. Kinda defeat the purpose if cloners clone these editions right? Were sure some will but the irony is, these clone mods will also have the Combat Clone logo. At least then, the message gets perpetuated. Will the campaign end clones? For certain.(you should shoot anyone who says that especially lawyers). It is important that this campaign is both visible and measurable. This campaign is not just for the vaping community but as importantly, for those OUTSIDE looking in. If we are seen to be serious and are successful in spreading the message, government entities, venture capitalists and angel investors would view the industry differently. To many outside, the industry is viewed as shady. We need campaigns like this to change the perception and that we are serious about business and protecting IPs. So how does it end clones? Ok it doesnt. But by the visibility, awareness and data available through facebook page, we can hopefully 1.educate the community 2.Promote good genuine products across the board 3. Appeal to investors and government who are on the fence about investing in this business through some data and research. You need serious money to combat clones. You need it to move it from a relatively low technology industry to higher. Money for research and patent development is important. Money for brand building is important. Government protection and funding assistance is important. How long does the campaign run for? A day already feels like an eternity but we will tough it out for at least 3 months and see but there will be an end to it. Thats it and thank you. Peace.
