There is a guy called Baby aka Manoj living under the staircase of a lodge building in Ernakulam south. No, Im not talking about a lizard or cockroach. Our protagonist is a middle aged man living amidst bundle of old newspapers, broken plastic chairs and discarded wooden furnitures. All the cockroaches and lizards, ants and mosquitoes living under the stair know him very well. He has a monitor fixed to the wall to which he has connected the TV signals so that he can watch Malayalm mega serials uninterrupted. Although hes unmarried his favourite serial is Sthreedanam (Dowry). He cries all night in his bed thinking about the plight of the daughter in law in the story whos been harassed mercilessly by her mother-in-law and molested by her ex-lover. He can predict the outcome of story and flaunts it to the inmates of the lodge. (to be continued)
