There is a significant road closure coming up that could affect Silver End residents. It starts on Monday 19th January for up to 4 weeks to deliver the Local Highways Panel scheme that will improve the alignment, kerbing and drainage in Rickstones Road, Rivenhall (where it floods and the bank is crumbling away). This time last year there was a closure of nearby Church Road without sufficient notice, which all concerned are keen to avoid a repeat of. Please forward to anyone you think needs to know. The local schools have been notified. Regards Cllr. James Abbott County Councillor for Witham Northern Division 01376 584576 Extract from ECC notice: The closure of Rickstones Road Rivenhall is scheduled to commence on 19 January 2015 for 4 weeks between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm, or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to facilitate kerb and drainage works. An alternative route is available via Cressing Road, Temple Lane, Western Road, Church Road and vice versa. Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
