There is an old legend about a soul eater. Hes gone by many names in the past: Wendigo, Slender Man, Bundle, The Thin Man, The White King, The Pale One, etc. It all stems from the myth of the angel of death. Its a fallen servant of the afterlife who is tasked with bringing people into the next world. Some things about this myth are common across all forms. For example, all it needs to steal your soul is for you to notice it. And there is no way of bargaining with it. When you give it your attention, youre not long for this world. Other things differ, namely appearance and method. The soul eater WANTS you to notice it, so its not going to stand out in the crowd only for you to divert your attention after a quick glance. It can take any appearance it wants. It will be attractive to you, and you might even smile at it. Or it might not even take a human shape. It could even look just like text on the internet.
