There is indeed a first time for everything. Nairobi Governor - TopicsExpress

There is indeed a first time for everything. Nairobi Governor Kidero finally does something for The People by rejecting the 0.5% Construction Levy proposed by the Ministry of Lands, Housing & Urban Development. Surely in a country that has a shortage of 155,000 housing units annually, how is this levy supposed to help the sector? Do people coming up with these fishy taxes consider the impact of the same? 40 million Kenyans, 22,000 mortgages~ one would think that these figures would enough to prompt sanity when it comes to encouraging investment in property development. Kudos Kidero for putting foot down...and I hope that foot firmly stays down on this issue.
