There is no doubt why the pigs are on tactical alert and swarming south LA right now. After months of delays, Ezell Fords state-sanctioned murder report will be released today. According to family members, Ezell could not verbally respond to the pigs and that is why they killed him. Everyone in the community knew him. Ezells cousin, Ceebo Tha Rapper, an artist who was deeply involved in organizing for justice for Ezell and his family, is now imprisoned for the next 17 years. In response to Ceebos music being used to bring people together against police brutality, LAPD heavily increased patrols in the area. Ezell Ford was killed two days after Mike Brown. There are no grand juries here in LA, not even the illusion that justice might be served with non-indictments. The assault on black peoples lives continues as Ezells mother is harassed by LAPD for daring to speak out on the murder of her son. Nine days before Ezell was taken from the world, Omar Abrego, a father of three, was beaten to death by LAPD in front of his own house, in the same neighborhood, within blocks, of where Ezell was murdered. There is no justice here, there never was.
