There is something gratifying about being right about something. Over a year ago, when 500 Paragraph 1 tickets became known to me, I said, this cannot possibly work, no judge can reasonably convict people who participate in street marches for this, because it demands that the whole purpose of the action is to block the streets and interfere with traffic. I was telling people this to get them not to worry... for the first time this is judged in a court room and I saw it early, I saw that the judge knew that three elements are required to convict someone and she had the policeman struggle as he claimed to be unaware that the third essential element did not exist. After the prosecution made its case, she asked the prosecutor if in fact he proved that this offence had happened, and said that it required that the action be intended to interfere with traffic, that this be its goal. She called the defendant to the stand and told her that there was no need for her to make a defence, she was acquitted.
