There is something so nerve-wracking about the way the world differentially responds to acts of terror. The death of several cartoonists from a satirical newspaper sparked a mass rally in Paris including major world leaders to show their defiance against acts of terror and promote free speech - which is fair, but consider this: The French are notoriously the largest violators of free speech in Europe, in S.A.S v. France, they defended their right to ban the wearing of the burqa in public on the grounds that it ensured the French to, no joke, live together. These solidarity laws were really just veiled discriminatory laws. Is it not unnerving that when millions of innocent muslims are systemically discriminated there were no world rallies, but when some cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo were killed, whose cartoons, by the way, are incredibly obscene by any standard, the entire world rallies? I dont condone terror or violence, but I dont condone global hypocrisy that only antagonize innocent muslims and further incentivize radicals to turn against democratic countries. The way the world has responded indicates we are irrationally anti-muslim. Last week Boko Haram was behind the execution of 2,000 innocent men, women, and children but nobody knows, but we all know about Charlie Hebdo. #thinkaboutit
