These are both the USS Enterprise. The first, a Continental Navy sloop-of-war and the most recent, the USS Enterprise (CVN 65). On this day in 1775, Col. Benedict Arnold captures a British sloop at St. Johns in Quebec, Canada and renames her Enterprise, the first of many famous ships with that name. Which Enterprise was the most iconic and why? (Capt. James Tiberius Kirk was not in the U.S. Navy, according to our records so we are not including the space ship in our poll.)
