These two gigantic fish were caught Saturday evening around - TopicsExpress

These two gigantic fish were caught Saturday evening around 8:00pm. The larger one is a small mouth. It really put up a fight...a lot of fun to reel in. The little one is a rock bass. It too fought pretty hard. Just wanted to be fair to the different species of fish (Also, on the way home, a spoke broke on my bike...bummer. I have had this bike since 1981.) As always, I was communing with the Lord while wading the river. (It was absolutely beautiful tonight.) I got to thinking about the book of Ecclesiastes. A couple of thoughts came to mind. First thought-- Does scholarship subliminally lead to secularism and humanism? Look what happened to Solomon. Second thought--Whenever Christians are confronted with a social issue, why do church leaders have to consult with scholarly theologians to determine what kind of a stance needs to be taken? The Bible says it all, but yet it is marginalized. It appears to me that when social issues are discussed in detail, that is what Satan wants because there is a greater chance of that issue being legitimized and Christians/people in general becoming desensitized. This reminds me of the C.S. Lewis book "The Screw Tape Letters". Satan is so subtle and smooth that he makes things sound and look good. But then again, does God give Satan permission to play with our minds, according to Job chapter 1? If God states in the Bible that something is wrong, then why discuss it? Therefore, is God using leaders and other countries to judge America and the church like he did with his chosen people in the Old Testament? Has the church (or Christians) become like that of Ephesus, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, and Laodicea in the book of Revelation? It is great to know that we have a sinless Savior in Jesus and "He" will come again. Thank you for the Cross. Something to mull over in your own mind.
