These two messages are from Eritreans who disagree with my post about President Afwerki. They believe that Afwerki is a dictator. The one thing that I noticed about these two is that both of them are Christians. That doesnt make them automatically bad or wrong but it is telling. President Afewrki has a very tense relationship with the Christians of Eritrea. The reason why is because the United States and Israel has a long history of using Churches in Eritrea to run intelligence operations in the country and threaten the sovereignty of the Eritrean people. Because of this many Eritrean christians feel marginalized when Afwerki takes a very strong stance against foreign NGOs and christian charities. These are the people who are likely to move to Ethiopia and Israel as refugees. The situation between Ethiopia and Eritrea is very similar to the one between the Dominican Republic and Haiti or Papua New Guinea and Bougainville. The people in these countries are very closely related but the politics of these nations drive them apart. Overall I support Afwerki. He is a lot better than the pathetic puppets that Ethiopia and other African nations have been producing. Though he has been in power for very long, Africa needs more leaders like him. I support Afwerki and Eritrea. Overall he is a positive president in a positive nation.
