These voter ID laws seem pretty innocuous to those who have an ID in their pocket. Speaker Wright was lucky to have someone who could take him around and get proper documentation. Many 90 year olds dont have that luxury. Last year American citizens born in Puerto Rico had to get reissued birth certificates - old ones were invalidated/ The wait time was several months. Folks who scoff at the idea that the purpose of these laws is to disenfranchise need to look beyond the end of their own nose. The number of cases of proven fraud involving lack of ID has been minimal. It is a whole lot of nothing until YOU cant vote.
