Thinking about Fiji tonight. Its been 9 years since we were there. I absolutely loved it. The Southern Cross. The food. The people - and how they REALLY care about others no matter who you are, youre there you are family. The beach. The clear clear water. All the great fish and coral and cool things we saw. Our haunted bure! The pink sky that made the clouds and water and everything else pink every morning and evening. 4 handed massages. The dying chief and his cool daughter who had given up her whole career as a teacher so she could come home and be with her father and take care of the village - but she wasnt bitter or resentful like you might expect someone to be who gave up their career, she was proud to be there with her father. How far out you could REALLY walk and see straight down into the water. (way way out). The blue starfish. How you could really be alone - lobster picnic lunches on little deserted islands. Ricks fish that wouldnt even fit in the ice chest - and how we all ate it for dinner that night! It was a really cool place. I am glad I have those memories.
