This Vintage Billiken is super fabulous! I know, I know! Upon first glance, its like what?? Pixie Newborn? A baby Sloth? (he kind of reminds me of sloth from Goonies lol). But Actually, The Billiken represents the god of Happiness, the god of Luck, The god Of Things As They Ought To Be. With his pudgy little body and fat little feet, the Billiken dates back to 1908 charm dolls. The artist is said to have seen the mysterious figure in a dream, describing him as having pointed ears, a mischievous smile and a tuft of hair on his pointed head. His arms were short and was generally sitting with his legs outstretched in front of him. Some believe that making a wish and kissing his feet will make your wish come true.
