This band changed my life back in high school. Its the hallmark of a truly great piece of art that at any point in your life when you revisit the piece youll find new meaning or find that it resonates just as strongly as before. Great art doesnt age and yet it grows along with you. Facebook, Twitter, tumblr... All are places for equal parts melodrama and cynicism, but this song reminds me that even if the rest of the world will scoff at your petty struggles, the peaks and valleys in life are what provide context and create meaning within the narrative of your own life. You cant truly appreciate the most exuberant happiness without it being framed by the context of your deepest pitfall. I dont know if that is what jimmy eat world meant to convey with this tune, but dammit if it isnt evocative. Too often we are afraid to feel strong emotions because it opens you up to a world of potential hurt, but in reality we all have vulnerable moments in our lives and I think sharing those moments can help other people and I think that is often the place where great art comes from. Anyways, see you later chicago! youtu.be/NHQxtECTDFs
