This brings about a knock on effect that can create problems through the entire spine and the muscles that are responsible for maintaining posture and functional stability and motion. Tightness in the muscles at the front of the hips and top of the thighs creates a weakness in the opposing glutes (buttocks) which should be the strongest muscles in the body and the powerful drivers of most types of lower body movement and locomotion. In addition the anterior tilt of the hips brings the abdominal muscles into a stretched and weakened position which in turn promotes the lower back muscles to become over loaded, tight and further contribute to the pelvic tilt and sets the body up for major problems whenever you attempt to bend and lift anything.
