This cannot be catalogued, taught or discovered. This is just what they do. Unfortunately we all use the same encyclopedia. An animal is discovered every week on an already inhabited island and is given a new name, put in a new category then taught back to all people as truth. Music is no different. This video exposes the source. Music is always being taken from its culture and categorized, watered down, and reclaimed. Played with for fun and commercialized for profit. Be careful with that. Respect the source. Check out the relationship between the drum, vocal and dance. Something that has permeated American music and music around the world. The African contribution deep when it comes to world influence. You can even see how some of the dances have survived. Granted, this video is modern but the traditional dance and drum is kept. In the US, the drums and dancing were banned and restricted, and jazz and hip hop was born. Music is an internal creation… the external instrument can be anything. This cannot be catalogued, taught or discovered.
