This could be Dublin ..Ive been riding the Immortal Engine ( my TCR ) in and out of work , extending my commute and getting the miles in and I cant help noticing the other Commutees around me. Its been a long long time since I was just a man on a bike. Years of competition and training and bringing people cycling has turned me into a bicycle addict. I love them all, in fact they are the only machine I want to take with me when I leave here. However , the rest of the place is over ran with badly equipped and poorly prepared bike riders. If youre going to ride a bike then you need to approach it with an attitude like Gok Wan, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Steve Jobs..every day I see people with the saddles too low, pushing manly gears, spinning like hamsters on speed and wearing completely inadequate clothing and no helmets or lights and what looks like suitcases strapped to there backs and I want to shake them and tell them there is a better way !! You dont have to look like you are riding the TDF or across the plains of Alaska but think about how much effort you go to when going to the boozer , use the same thought process when riding your bike..prepare you and your bike..if you dont know how, stroll in to your local bike shop and ask, if they look at you funny , walk out and go to the next one..eventually you will come to the one where somebody like me works and they will understand. The revolution starts here !
