This has be the most shocking toxic claim of all. Forget the Pringles mentioned in the headline, this is about ALL fried and/or baked potato (and other vegetable) products. When carbohydrate rich food is heated to temperatures in excess of 100 Celsius, a cancer causing chemical called acrylamide is created. On average there are 0.53 ppm present in potato chips. French fries average 0.19 ppm. Toast, especially dark toast also creates this toxin. Unfortunately, avoiding acrylamide may be quite difficult, but certainly exposure can be minimized easily by targeting chips and fries.
