This involves Touchstone which is Disney so here we go. Well I FINALLY got a chance to see the closing piece of director Hayao Miyazaki, The Wind Rises. And while I wouldnt say it is my favorite of his films it is pretty dang strong. The weakest point of the film is the animation; while it is still great and does an excellent job at setting an atmosphere, there were areas that really needed either a double over to add more detail or more experienced animators. However what makes this movie so strong are the characters and the writing. This is a biography piece and it manages to tell a touching story about the life of one of the worlds greatest airplane designers with flying colors. Also, on my animated movie score chart, it is the first animated movie to get a perfect in the Story category since Wreck-it Ralph. If you havent seen it yet, I highly recommend you do so ASAP especially since it is now at discount theaters so it is affordable. Now 2014 has a new hurdle to jump in terms of being the best animated movie of the year. And this only came right after The Lego Movie so that didnt take very long.
