This is a rant: I am not trying to sound arrogant and haughty. A little history- I am a Registered Nurse, I did go to nursing school and pass my board exams that only took me 2.25 hours of the 6 hours given to complete. I only have 4 classes to complete to have my BSN. I had a 3.66 GPA when life forced me to take a step back for a while...and my GPA was only that low because life was dragging me down and I kept fighting to do my best in those circumstances....Recently, there have been several people posting pictures of body parts asking if what was being shown was normal. Some of these have not been critical in nature but still needed to be followed up with a physician. Some though have circumstances (like post op or fractures) that have very common but VERY serious complications. I have answered those...some just because I came across them on my own and others that friends have tagged me in because they trust my judgement. I tried to give both sides of the coin: Yes it could be something as simple as swelling and bruising that comes with your procedure but it also could be this or that...which can be life or limb threatening. If it is of the second time is of the essence! That needs to be checked out by someone that is trained to diagnose and treat...not me...not a paramedic...not an EMT...not a Nurses Aide... and most certainly not someone off the street that may have similar circumstances. If it ends up being the first then wow, wonderful! But if it is the second then you have just saved your life or limb. That is how serious these complications can be AND EVEN MORE SO FOR THOSE OF US WITH EDS, LET ALONE VEDS!!!! But then after seeing all these other people saying go get it checked out...the smart ones...there are those in there: Well, it looks like mine and mine was just bruised... Fine great for you, but are you a MD, OD, PA, or NP? Then, you should be saying That was mine but you should get it checked out. What pisses me off the most is at then end of 60-150 comments...that original poster decides that they arent that bad because they have done their research online-do they have access to REAL medical journals and experience or Wickipedia-and that they are looking for the bad signs and that they feel their symptoms would have come on earlier or faster or slower or what ever if it would have been serious enough...After real medical professionals combined with many that really did have good advice tell them to get someone who knows what they are doing check it out NOW. Not tonight or in the morning or when more things start showing up...IT COULD VERY WELL BE TOO LATE!!!! I very rarely wish evil on someone but lordy, these people deserve something for such stupidity!!! Dont ask if you wont like the answer!!!!
