This is an excellent observation. When I started coaching in 1992 I just coached some very good Elite male road cyclists. I eventually branched out into Track and coaching men and women but still mostly elite and before 2005 only one U17 rider. On my return I have coached juniors, elites, masters on road, track, cross country, BMX, Downhill and now enduro. Coaching riders in so many different events and at such different levels of experience has helped me to grow as a coach and adapt to the many challenges so much faster.
