This is an outline from RCF-UIs bible study that held yesterday. Im sure well learn from it. 21st January, 2015 Theme for the Tenure: Chariot of Fire! Chariot of Israel! (2nd Kings 2:1-15, 13:14-20) Topic: Christianity (PART 3) Text: Colossians 3:1-17, Revelation 3:7-13 Aim: At the end of the teaching, students should see the need to apply the lessons from the Biblical churches to their daily walk as Christians. Introduction: For the past few weeks, we’ve been learning from God on what the Bible says as touching Christianity. Today, we will continue in that same vein, even as we consider some of the churches in the Bible, trusting the Holy Spirit to unveil the mind of God to us, in clear and precise terms in Jesus name, Amen. Outline One: The Corinthian church (carnal church) •There was division and strive amidst them as regards who to follow between Christ and Paul. 1st Corinthians 1:11-13, 1st Corinthians 3:3-6. •They had issues with the liberty Christ has given to us, forgetting that the liberty we have in Christ comes with a responsibility. 2nd Corinthians 6:1-3, 1st Corinthians 8:9-12, Galatians 5:13-15. •The Grace of God should not be abused as the Israelites of old did. 1st Corinthians 10:1-12, 1st Corinthians 9:24-27, Galatians 6:7-8. •They manifested all the gifts of the gifts of the Spirit but with no fruit. 1st Corinthians 13:1-3. The fruit you manifest is a function of the tree you are made of. Matthew 7:15-20. •To be carnally-minded is death. Romans 8:6, Galatians 5:19-21, Galatians 6:8. Outline Two: The Philadelphian church (enduring church) •They were of little strength, yet remained faithful. Revelation 3:8, Psalms 101:6, 2nd Corinthians 4:2. •They endured hardship and persecutions. 2nd Timothy 2:3, 2nd Corinthians 4:8-10, 2nd Corinthians 12:10, 1st Thessalonians 3:3. •They kept the Word of God (i.e. the teachings of Jesus). Revelation 3:8, Psalms 119:11, Luke 11:28, 1st John 2:5. •They waited patiently on God. Revelation 3:10, Isaiah 40:29-31, Hebrews 10:35-39, Psalms 25:5. •The end has not come yet! They must keep on enduring so as not to soil their testimony. Matthew 24:13, Revelation 3:11-12, Matthew 10:22, Mark 13:13. Conclusion: Our Lord, Jesus Christ did not die on the cross of Calvary to reduce the standard of God, but to qualify us to meet up with the standard, 2nd Timothy 2:19. Our God is unchangeable. Hebrews 13:8, Malachi 3:6. Let us therefore, walk worthy of the calling of the Lord. All questions should be forwarded to rcfbiblestudy@yahoo. Thanks
