This is going to be a long post, but I sincerely hope you’ll - TopicsExpress

This is going to be a long post, but I sincerely hope you’ll read it to the end. TRUST ME! I am so blessed by the outpouring of love I have received over these past 7 years from so many of you. I have photographed your babies, your families, your kiddos, your high school seniors, your loved ones, and even a few weddings! So very many of you started as my clients, but now have become my friends! I am so grateful to be able to see so many of you, year after year. You have no idea what an honor it is to have watched your children grow up, and to have been chosen by you to document those special moments in your life. From time to time I like to hold contests to thank all of you for your support, and to give a little something back. Yes, they can be a bit silly. Or yes, they can be a bit time consuming, but I hope all of you love them as much as I do. Photography is a passion of mine, and I like to share it with every one. I realize that the career I have isn’t based on “supply and demand”. I don’t have a “product” that people need to purchase to make their lives healthier, better, easier. My “product” is simply capturing moments where every one is together, every one is able to show the love they have for each other, and every one can look back and remember special times. My “product”, though, isn’t simple. And because my “product” isn’t a necessity to life, I realize that my business ebbs and flows. I have busy, chaotic, crazy times (hello September and October!)…and I have really, really, REALLY slow times (nice to see you again, December – March). I am also not a photographer who sells herself short. The Kansas City metro area is supersaturated with photographers. I bet you have a neighbor who is a photographer, or a friend, or even a relative! Why, YOU might be reading this and saying “I’M A PHOTOGRAPHER!” And that is wonderful: follow your passion!! I pray that my commitment to my craft keeps my clients (and friends) coming back for years. I pray that I make you smile when you receive your pictures. I pray that our session is full of lollipops and rainbows and puppy kisses. I pray that I make you happy. Honestly and truly, that is my goal: to make people….happy. I have gotten a smidge off track. The reason for this post is to let you know that I have two very special friends who have lovingly and prayerfully decided they’d like to pay for a photography session for complete strangers. In essence, they are “happily paying it forward”. When they handed me their check, I was immediately even more grateful for them. Seriously, these two are so very special, and I hope all of you can have friends like them in your life. My friends have two requests: 1). they’d like to remain anonymous and 2). I choose what type of session I’d like to “give away”. It didn’t take me long to decide what type of family I’d like to gift this session to. It was actually an extremely easy decision, and after speaking it over with them, it quickly became “the perfect decision”. As some of you know, I have a lot of pride for our country, and I am so grateful to all of the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our military. The sacrifices they make, the sacrifices their families make…those sacrifices do not go unnoticed by me or my family. So, my next contest is going to be for military families. YAY!! And because there is NO WAY I could ever choose one winner, I am handing the voting over to you: my Facebook family! Details for the contest and how to enter will be written up soon. But for now, if you are someone who would be interested in this contest, or you know of someone that would be interested in participating in this contest, please comment below. I want so many people to be able to see this, and to get the word out (so please SHARE SHARE SHARE this status). I want to make a family HAPPY. I praise Jesus for my two friends and their hearts. They serve the Lord with such purpose and love and kindness. I praise Jesus that they trust me by giving me this donation, and I praise JESUS, my Lord and Savior, for the gifts He has given me. I am not worthy of his love, yet He forgives me and loves me unconditionally every day. And that makes me…happy. :-) Details coming soon!
