This is rare, I know, but heres a serious thought I had - If youre a musician looking to make a career out of music SOLELY for money or notoriety, then you are essentially the worst kind of person in my book. You may not realize it (or you do realize it and just dont care), but being a musician is about more than just the music now. Youre pretty much a therapist that isnt gonna charge someone their first-born child for help. You may not realize that your music could be the difference between a kid killing themselves or living another day, but thats the truth. It happens. It may sound kind of unfair for me throw that on you, but honestly, thats part of what youre signing up for as a musician. Its about more than you. So quit writing your bullshit, meaningless, songs that you think every drunk white girl in a club wants to hear and write something worth it because, guess what, its about more than you. Thank you.
