This is such an honor and a treat! I came to Philly from NYC in the mid-90s and the huge difference was access: I could get seen here. I enjoy doing plays and musicals, classical and contemporary, playing men and women, young and old. Im also an unapologetic educator, and it was a teaching position at the University of the Arts that drew me to Philly in the first place. Making plays and players, thats what its about, and Ive done that at theaters throughout the region. But I did it first at the Walnut. Thank you for the open door, Bernard -- and mad love to a community that has grown exponentially in 25 years into a world-class theater-maker. There are growing pains. I try my best to stay open: optimistic, productive, engaged and nurturing. Cant wait to be with my colleagues from around the country next week.
