This is the grossest bit of faux martyrdom Ive read in a while (I almost gagged at the idea that conservative Christian groups are less favored than Jewish groups because of kosher meal offerings), but it does have one important note: Campus ministry neednt be ties to official university status. Its a privileged position that can absolutely be done away with. In my own view, parachurch organizations like InterVarsity (which I was a part of during undergrad) at their best help students find other like-minded students to share in faith and fellowship, and at their worst either harm some students by social ostracization and shame or give a false impression about what authentic inter-generational Christian fellowship looks like. If a university wants to have policies that keep anti-gay preaching and teaching out of its student groups, or which force groups to open their leadership to anyone without creed or confession, thats fine. Conservative groups have plenty of other ways of ministering at and on campuses, and decisions like these might actually allow students to reconnect with local congregations.
