This issue hits too close to home for me. It is my quiet, lovely, well-behaved daughter with the weekly designated support hours and funding who falls through the gap in a system that cant seem to address the ever-growing needs and challenges of undesignated/unassessed/undiagnosed classmates. It is my daughter on whom the others in her class piggyback. It is my daughter whose IEP goals are unreachable because of a lack of support. It is my daughter for whom we are currently paying thousands for private psycho/educational assessment because the waitlist is too long at school. And, dont think for a minute, that your child isnt affected too. Because, as this article states, the effects of this broken system touch every child out there. They, too, are being robbed. This issue rolls out and impacts every child in every classroom. The government needs to get its head out of its ass and really acknowledge whats going on. And then adapt and step up to providing our children with what they all need and absolutely deserve. Enough is enough. This is our future. They are our future. And, in that, this issue also hits too close to home for you too.
