Car clubs from throughout the Hudson Valley will attend the event, which will take place rain or shine. Food will be available from concessionaires on site. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome will generously lend a World War I tank from their collection for display at the Gathering of Old Cars. The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, a museum of World War I and Golden Age aircraft and antique automobiles, is located in Red Hook, New York. To learn more about the Aerodrome, visit their website at oldrhinebeck.org. The tank will stay on Staatsburgh’s grounds for about two weeks after the event. The special tour, World War I and the End of the Gilded Age, explores how the cataclysm of World War I brought an end to the extravagant excesses of the Gilded Age. The 90-minute tour will be offered October 12th and October 26th at 1:00 p.m. Reservations for the tour are strongly recommended and can be made by calling (845) 889-8851.
