This just shows you how the downtown has improved in the last 15 years. I represented the seller of the Rule Building and we got 2 MILLION less and we were happy to get it. The Amarillo Building was being developed at the time for Cumulus. The developer needed parking lot for the contracted spots. They tried to pull a fast one by having a friend submit an offer for just the building at the time as submitting the offer for only the parking lot. You know the building only offer would have not closed. I was only 21 years old and I know Joe Bob McCartt and Eddie Davis was underestimating me. Old white guys do that often and they are surprised when this soft-spoken young woman overcomes the challenges they try to put in my way. They sold it about 10 years ago for around $200k to the current family. I wish them luck. I will say that I hope it does go south like the Barfield and Herring since the owners are not in the in-crowd.
