This little one came in Friday Morning. It has a massive infection at the top of its keel bone that absolutely stinks. It is also extremely emaciated. It is a baby - 2 weeks out of the nest & parent reared. It was the last one to leave the nest and I am guessing it has crashed hard on leaving which has set of the infection. Because of its very poor condition there is very little muscle around the keel thus leaving it more exposed to serious damage from crashes, as baby birds do. The rest of the babys are in good health as is mum & dad, (I paid them a visit yesterday) Parent birds had stopped feeding it, it wont feed itself, so I am crop feeding it 3 times a day as well as antibiotics twice a day & salt water washes. Hopefully the infection will clear up.
