This makes me think about Dr. Tomas Laurenzo thesis and the need to appropriate technology - for aesthetic and ethical purposes, which, in the end, is also a political endeavour. Carl Sagan... complicated character, but one of my heroes. Let me share an old memory: when I was living in Uruguay, as I child, in winter, when for some reason (too often actually) water could not be heated, I would use this mantra to stand the cold shower: I do it for science, for sagan.... Cosmos certainly changed my way of thinking - and helped me to stay clean, in my mind and body.
