This man was hospitalized from diabetic complications and high blood pressure. His incredible journey to health... The last few days of March 2014 my husband ended up in ICU in Diabetic Ketoacidosis very near a comatose state. He had only two days before been diagnosed with diabetes. He spent three days in the hospital and came out labeled a fragile diabetic and on high doses of insulin and Metformin. The hospital doctor said he would be on insulin the rest of his life. He did say that there was an unlikely chance that if he maxed out on diabetic pills and adhered to a rigid diet, lost a few ponds then maybe in a few years he might be able to drop the insulin. But its not likely and for him to get used to he idea. After leaving the hospital despite a strict diet his blood sugars remained in the 300s (norm is 70-120). We were scared. At this point we were introduced to Plexus. We were skeptical! The first week his blood sugars dropped below 300. The second week he no longer had to take his short term insulin before meals. The fourth week he began lowering his long term nighttime insulin. 3 1/2 months later he was off all insulin, on half the dose of Metformin and down 40 lbs. As an unexpected bonus the doctor cut his blood pressure medicine in half. Now four months out from ICU he is off blood pressure medicine all together and we are contacting the doctor again because he is having a trend of lower blood sugars which means he will likely be off all diabetic medicines in the next few days. I am so proud of his determination in eating healthily and thankful for the helpful tool Plexus has become in maintaining his health.
