This morning, a man escaped from the trauma unit at Mission Hospital where he was being treated for a stab wound. The man approached an Asheville High School student and told the student, Give me your clothes. The student said no, at which point the man punched the student in the face. The student ran away from the man towards the school. Will Smith, an English teacher at Asheville High School, then tackled the man to the ground, and told the student to run. The student is shaken and bruised but OK. Mr. Smith spent some time in the hospital after the man bit him. Please dont spread rumors. No one was shot, there was no Bible. Just want to clear that up.
