This morning my mother and I took my grandfather to see the movie, - TopicsExpress

This morning my mother and I took my grandfather to see the movie, Fury. Not only were we taking him to see a movie that he lived, but it was also the first time he stepped in a movie theater in 30+ years. I cant even begin to explain the impact the movie had on me. Its heartbreaking enough to think that anybody experienced the events in the film, but to know my grandfather experienced it firsthand, is unbelievable. He was 18 when he was drafted. He was a baby! I kept glancing over to see how he was handling reliving his own experiences given that he served as part of a tank battalion. He told my mother and I that the movie was very accurate. My mother plans to video record his thoughts on the film and will be sure to post them. Even a woman who saw the movie with us wanted my grandfathers thoughts on the film as we were leaving. I was in tears by the end of it. Before we left the theater, I gave him the biggest hug imaginable and thanked him once again for his service. If Fury doesnt win several Oscars then something is definitely wrong with the system. Thank you to all who have served, continue to serve, and will serve in the future. God bless you all!
