This morning we again picketed the test-drilling for the $11billion East West Link tollway scam. 74% of Melbournians oppose this project but the Victorian Liberal government seems determined to sign contracts before this years state election. We held work up for a few hours until the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) thugs joined the regular cops to give us all bruising and grazes from being dragged on asphalt. Some CIRT cops had no badges and commanding officers ignored requests to investigate. In fact, one of the leading cops there told a protester that he hoped his grip around the protesters neck was painful. This was right after faking concern for protesters well-being in front of the cameras. We definitely slowed the drilling down but need more people to come down if we are to have a decisive impact.
