This past Friday night, Louisville. I was lucky enough to be asked to join the other boat captains, first mates...much thanks for helping out Ted Boester..., veterans, and countless others who helped get these warriors on the water. Huge meal beforehand where I got to chat with several of our young veterans, some future military as well as old friends and new acquaintances. I truly hope the vets that got to fish with us all had somewhere close to as much fun as I did. Several sobering moments thrown in there for sure but the feelings of pride and hope were as strong as Ive ever felt. No thanks is enough and, while Im sure it was appreciated, I got the feeling more than once that none was necessary. The Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.....yes, still clinging to those guns and bibles thank God.....and the evening was officially under way. God bless America and those that serve in her defense. Its going to be hard picking up a bowfishing bow and not remembering Friday night....
