This past June 21 and June 28 were important days for the continued success of District 16. Club officer training is one of the most important functions in Toastmasters. When the officers are functioning at a high level the clubs are putting on a good show. There is excitement and fun. Visitors are attracted to the club meetings and they come back and join. The quantity, quality and strength of the clubs are the foundation blocks that fuel the successes of the areas, divisions, and district. To accomplish these tasks requires a dedicated, motivated and trained TLI Chair on both sides of the state. Delane Nienhuser (June 21 at Francis Tuttle OKC) and Randall Baker (June 28 at Church of the Madalene Tulsa) were those two individuals. Both TLIs were well attended. I attended the open sessions, also the breakout for area governors and club Secretary (Im Speak EZ Secretary). Karen Robinson drove over from OKC and did a wonderful job covering both Secretary and Treasurer. Considering the changes TI wants incorporated into all training sessions, Randall Baker and Delane Nienhuser did a commendable job locating a venue and recruiting qualified trainers and support people to accomplish these tasks. Delane Nienhuser and Randall Baker will share my June 29, 2014 Toastmaster of the Day.
