This picture shows dialysis in all its glory, a time consuming, life saving, untold infection causing and debilitating way of, what some might call, life. Without it, then youd maybe live a week to ten days. You are umbilically attached to the nearest hospital...for life. Any holiday has to be given months of planning, and you never know what youll find, sterile conditions are paramount, with infection of any kind a potential killer. Since its invention, many lives have been saved, not from the drudgery of the actual dialysis, but from certain death. Dialysis has been a prescribed medication, A plan of care decided by a medical professional ...since it was approved as a life saver, on the NHS. All these things have not only gravitas, but law behind them, if you require dialysis, youll get dialysis. In 2015, the Tory party intend to drop the prescription part, paving the way for privatised firms to offer dialysis. A disaster in the making, the protocols, and costs, due to the many different problems each patient has, will take away the almost guaranteed safety patients have now. If such an important part of the NHS is up for grabs under this Government, what are the odds theyll sell, privatise, or shut, it all.
