This picture shows what our Hon. MPs called “basic service delivery and infrastructure development” when they make big budget plans every year and obtain big loans from overseas. The picture shows the current office of Air Niugini, the National Flag Carrier of Papua New Guinea. The office is in Kiunga, a rich province and home to OK Tedi Mining Limited, a world class mining project which generates billions of kina in revenue to the State’s coffers. To see such infrastructure in a rich province is a great shame and embarrassment for the country and our Hon. MPs. It reflects the standard and quality of leadership in the country. The leaders we have in this country; they dont think big and look beyond into the future. The leadership does not have any plans and visions to translate the wealth of our natural resources into building modern infrastructures that can last for centuries and hundreds of generations. The leadership has been building temporary and substandard infrastructures using temporarily development concepts or in most instances on ad hock basis, normally driven by their greed for wealth accumulation. PNGeans must know that we have a very serious leadership problem. The leadership is becoming a threat and grave concern to the development and progress of the country. They have proved more than incapable of running the country. No matter how rich we are, we will be worse with fast aging and deteriorating infrastructures if we still have the 38 years of recycled leaders continue running the country. PNG badly needs revolution to change the course of this country and rewrite history for a new beginning with a new vision and dream.
