This post contains a repeated 4 letter word… please have all the women and children leave the room immediately, haha. Today I had a fun conversation that I felt I had to share... A member of the gym was complaining about not making progress in their training and diet. During their whining I pretended to be nice as I quietly analyzed all the bullshit reasons they were listing for why they weren’t making progress. Finally the member said… “What do you think?” I replied, “Do you want Nice Rob or No Bullshit Rob?” Member – “I want the truth so I can fix this!” Me – “Okay… you have a nutrition plan and a training plan… that you’re not following. You may think you’re following it but you’re not… you probably follow it most of the time when it’s convenient but, at best, half of the time when it’s not convenient but you tell yourself bullshit excuses like all the ones you just listed to make you feel better about not actually following the plan, and then you believe your own bullshit excuses which leads you to the delusional opinion that you are ‘following the plan’…. which again, you are not… because if you were… you’d get results… you have to eventually decide to drop the bullshit and do the plan with 100% effort or not… you need to decide to… as they say… shit or get off the pot.” Long pause…. Member – “Well when do YOU shit?!” Me – “You’re standing in my shit! Look around you… all this… my shit… look in front of you… all this… my shit… every damn day I shit… my whole life is nothing but shit!” At this point we both were smiling as we realized the absurdity of the conversation. Member – With a grin… “Well shit...” Me – “So what’s it gonna be?” Member – “I’ll shit” Me – “Good!”
