This recipe can be used for breakfast or desert: Maple Fruit Compote 1/4 cup apple juice 2 tablespoons maple-flavored syrup 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 medium apples, cored and cut into bite-size pieces 1 small pear, cored and cut into 1/2-inch cubes 1 teaspoon vanilla *DIRECTIONS: In a 11/2-quart casserole stir together apple juice, maple-flavored syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add apples and pear. Cook, covered, on 100% power (high) for 4 to 5 or till fruit is tender, stirring once. Stir in vanilla. Makes 4 servings. Calories: 86/serving TIME: Preparation Time: 10 min.
