This rendition of Joni Mitchells classic song River doesnt just impress me, it moves me. Its not a happy song, but I suspect that most of us have plenty that we need to feel besides happiness. Maybe this song will help. Blessings on this time for you, whether youre celebrating the birth of Jesus, miracles of oil and lamps, the return of the light, or the constant presence of the Light, which, in the end, may all be metaphors for the same thing anyway. I hope these particular moments are nourishing and rejuvenating for you. We have important work to do, and an important part of preparing for it is resting and reconnecting with our community and family, born and chosen. May you find a bit of rest in the midst of all the doing. And, mixed in with so many other emotions, may you remember that you are loved.
