This update concerns all the final-year students of IT-GGV. You people must be having your winter breaks, I guess (some would be too busy with Equilibrio 2015) . Just wanted to share a few tips so that you people dont go through all the kinds of hassles that we did: a) Those who want a job (an IT job, more specifically) - Work on your aptitude and then, 1) Take e-Litmus at the earliest aiming 85+ in all the sections. 2) Take AMCAT at the earliest aiming 95+ in all the sections. 3) Create an account on freshersworld(dot)com as soon as possible. 4) Like some Facebook pages: Chetanas Forum, MRA Job Seekers, FreshersLive just to keep yourself abreast with all the happenings and upcoming drives. 5) Try to do your project, howsoever small, with honesty. 6) Buy books like: How to Crack an IT Interview (available on Flipkart). A shortcut, yes but works neverthless. 7) If while passing out, you are with no job, move to Bengaluru/NCR without wasting your time at home. b) The MBAwallahs: 1) CAT is over. Take XAT and TISS-HRLRM. 2) Visit gpkafunda regularly. 3) Those who are expecting a good score in CAT, start preparing for your GD/PIs too. There are plenty of options available for this. I would suggest join Bulls Eye, Bilaspur. The mentor, Rahul Mahobia sir, is very experienced and will help you a lot during this second phase. 4) Dont worry about the money. Apply to as many colleges as you think are good. You may find genuine rankings at Time4Educations website. 5) Most importantly, attend the interviews upon receiving the calls. Dont be too sure about just one or two college(s). 6) Read The Hindu everyday. Front, Business, World and Editorial. 7) Subscribe to Business Today. c) The GATEwallahs: 1) Be in touch with the seniors from your respective branches who perfromed well last year. Some of them are pure geniuses. Have a Happy Final Semester! Keep visiting Caffino and DBC.
