This week has been unusual to say the least. Multiple - TopicsExpress

This week has been unusual to say the least. Multiple performances (6 so far) and a dress rehearsal with orchestra have left me mentally and physically spent. My mind however has been focused on an issue far greater than any choral rehearsal or choir concert. My father, Gerald Lamar Rayburn, has had a recent turn of ill health. He had planned to be at the choir concert Tuesday evening, but after his visit with his cardiologist, plans drastically changed. He had tests run on Tuesday and today (Friday) following his appointment. He will have open heart surgery a week from today (Friday, December 19) at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. He must wait a week to allow the blood thinning medication to work through his system. My father has always been a strong man and will continue to be, but sometimes age catches up to you. He gives himself daily insulin injections and he will be 75 next month. I know he will continue to be strong, but this surgery is his greatest fear. Please pray for his health, his confidence in the medical profession, his healing and our family. This week has been agonizingly long for me, and I am sure that next week will not be different. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support of my father who was coach and surrogate dad to many in my hometown. Thank you for the prayers for my mother, Mary Lois Rayburn, as well. This shared from a heart that is heavy, tired and sad. BR
