This week on ESPN is Jimmy V week to raise money for cancer research. For my non sports fans friends, Jimmy V was a title winning coach at NC State that gave a memorable & inspirational speech about life and dealing with cancer at the 1993 Espys that I have posted below, it is well worth a watch. Shortly after Jimmy V lost his life to cancer and his family vowed to raise money for the cause. This has always been a tough week for me because I lost my Grandfather to cancer but this year it hit home again. My Aunt Robin passed away this March in her 50s to cancer. She was an amazing woman who was as strong a person I ever met, this holiday isnt the same without her. Then last month my stepdad was diagnosed as well and will begin his battle with this awful disease. In the honor of my Aunt and Grandfather who lost there battles with cancer as well as my stepdad who will win his battle with cancer I proudly donated to the Jimmy V foundation.
